What differentiates our approach from a conventional design office is the field perspective. Engineering is developed using direct site experience and in coordination with the teams responsible for installation, connections, testing and commissioning.

The engineering scope is defined according to the project, plant conditions and documentation already available.
MV/LV power distribution
Primary and secondary distribution architecture, MV/LV transformers, generator sets, feeders and mains, cable routes and auxiliary systems.
A significant part of our work involves integrating new loads and expanding existing operating installations.

Site surveys, reconstruction of as-built conditions, review of available documentation, definition of modifications, new layouts and routes, and management of interfaces.
Engineering includes preparation of detailed design documentation and as-built drawings.
Electrical system revamping →Lighting engineering
Lighting surveys, assessment of existing conditions, studies using dedicated software (DIALux EVO), luminaire selection and layout, and comparison between existing and proposed conditions.
Studies are developed with reference to workplace lighting requirements (EN 12464-1) and have been followed through to implementation.
Electric vehicle charging infrastructure
Definition of supply points, electrical distribution, local switchboards, feeders, protection, earthing and cable routes for separate charging areas within the same site.
One project developed for an industrial site included sizing, single-line diagrams and layouts for a planned total capacity of approximately 219 kW.
Surge and lightning protection
Review of the existing risk assessment and design of the required protection measures, including selection and location of SPDs, in accordance with the EN 62305 series.
The designed measures were implemented and documented through final as-built drawings.
Ancillary supports and installation works
Brackets, supports, cable-support structures, technical platforms and mechanical supports required for equipment and fan installation.
This is not general structural engineering, but the integration of ancillary works required for correct implementation of the electrical system.
How the engineering process is developed
The phases are adapted to the project scope: in some cases the work ends with delivery of engineering documents; in others it continues through plant commissioning.
Survey and data collection
Site inspection, plant survey, review of existing documentation, identification of constraints and verification of interfaces with systems remaining in service.
Solution definition
Requirements, technical alternatives, integration with existing systems, sizing criteria and selection of electrical architecture.
Calculations and design
Sizing, schematics, layouts, routes, technical specifications and component selection.
Detailed design documentation
Technical reports, single-line and multi-line diagrams, layouts, plans, cable routes and lists, load schedules, bills of materials, specifications, datasheets and protection settings.
Implementation
When included in scope: procurement, assembly, installation, field modifications and coordination of specialist suppliers.
Verification and handover
Testing, FAT where applicable, field verification, commissioning, final documentation and as-built drawings.

For the replacement of two automation and process-control panels within an industrial facility, LAMAEL managed the project scope including surveys, existing-system analysis, intervention definition and coordination, documentation and interface management.
Specialist manufacture of the two panels was assigned to a supplier with the required specific know-how. LAMAEL installed the new systems and carried out field reconnection and integration, maintaining operational coordination and the technical interface with the client.
This is a recurring delivery model: when part of a project requires specialist expertise, the specialist supplier is integrated into the project while LAMAEL maintains coordination and avoids unnecessary fragmentation of client interfaces.
From engineering to commissioning
Depending on the required scope, the service can be limited to engineering or extend through the entire delivery process with one technical point of contact.
For work on existing plants: electrical system revamping, which can itself include engineering, supply, implementation and commissioning.
Technical documentation
The deliverables are defined according to project scope and client requirements; not every document is required for every project.
When implementation is also included, documentation follows the installation through to final as-built drawings.
Engineering is developed in accordance with the standards applicable to each activity, including CEI 64-8 for low-voltage installations, EN IEC 61439 for switchgear assemblies, CEI 0-16 where applicable to grid connection, and CEI 11-27 / EN 50110 for electrical work.
